How to Cancel My Coverage

If you no longer want your mechanical coverage, you can request cancellation by contacting support. This article explains when you can cancel, how refunds work, and the steps to submit a cancellation request.

How to request cancellation

To cancel your coverage, you must contact the support team.

When contacting support, let them know you would like to cancel your mechanical coverage policy.

  • Your full name
  • Policy number
  • The vehicle covered under the policy
  • Your requested cancellation date
  • A photo of your current odometer

This information helps the team locate your policy and process the request.

Step 3: Receive confirmation

Once your request is processed, you should receive confirmation that your coverage has been canceled. Keep this confirmation for your records.


Financial impact of canceling coverage

The amount refunded, if any, depends on when you cancel and whether a claim has been filed.

Cancellation within the first 30 days

You may qualify for a full refund if:

  • Cancellation is requested within 30 days of the policy purchase date, and
  • No claims have been made under the policy.

Cancellation after 30 days

If cancellation occurs after the first 30 days, you may receive a prorated refund.

A prorated refund means the refund amount is based on the unused portion of your coverage term.

Situations that may affect refunds

Refund eligibility may be impacted if:

  • A claim has already been filed
  • The policy has been active beyond the 30-day free cancellation window
  • Reaching your mileage limit before the policy expiration date
  • Other policy conditions apply

Support can confirm the refund amount, if any, during the cancellation process.


Important notes

Removing your vehicle from Turo does not cancel the policy

Policies are not automatically canceled if a vehicle is removed from Turo or Tint Offtrip. A cancellation request must still be submitted.

Billing cycle timing

Billing occurs at the beginning of each month, not on the policy purchase date. This may affect how refunds are calculated when coverage is canceled.
