How to cancel
Cancelling is not something you can do in the portal. Submit the cancellation form and tell us the date you want your coverage to end. We will process it and confirm by email.
Do not remove your vehicles first. Cancelling the policy handles that for you, and stripping the vehicles out separately beforehand can stop the cancellation from completing properly. Just submit the form.
Removing every vehicle is not the same as cancelling.
If you set all your vehicles to no coverage, your policy stays open with nothing insured on it. You are not covered, but the policy is still there, and it is not cancelled until you ask us to cancel it.
If you want to stop entirely, cancel the policy.
What happens to money you have already paid
We refund the unused amount to the card you paid with. You do not need to ask for it. The amount is worked out by the day, from the date your coverage ends to the end of the month you had already paid for.
Once the refund is issued it can take a few days to appear, depending on your bank.
If you have an unpaid balance
If you cancel while an invoice is unpaid, your coverage ends on the last day of the month you last paid for, rather than on the date you asked for.
Before you cancel
If you are cancelling because of the price, it is worth checking two things first, since both can change what you pay without ending your coverage:
- Whether your vehicles are connected to telematics. An unconnected vehicle costs about 40 percent more.
- Whether your deductibles suit you. A higher deductible lowers the monthly premium.
Both are on the Edit coverages screen.
