# Off-Trip Fleet Pricing Update
## Fleet size pricing and utilization ratings: how they work Larger fleets qualify for a lower rate. Your fleet size tier is updated every month.

Starting November 1, two updates to Off-Trip pricing take effect at the same time:
1. Fleet size discounts. Hosts with larger fleets can qualify for a lower rate.
2. Utilization pricing. Your premium now reflects how often your vehicles are actually on trips.
These are two separate changes. You might see one, both, or neither depending on your fleet. Below we explain each one and what it means for you.
### 1. Fleet size tiers
Larger fleets qualify for a lower rate. Your fleet size tier is updated every month.
| Vehicles insured | Effect on price |
| --- | --- |
| 1 to 2 | Small fleet rate |
| 3 to 9 | Standard rate |
| 10+ | Next pricing break |
| 25+ | Bigger discount |
| 50+ | Biggest discount |
Your price is shown in your portal.
### How your tier is set
On the last day of each month, we look at the highest number of vehicles you had insured at any point that month. A vehicle only needs to be on your policy for one day to count. That number sets your tier for the next month's bill.

### Adding vehicles
New vehicles are billed at your current rate for the rest of the month. If they move you into a better tier, the lower price applies to your whole fleet starting the 1st of next month. Price changes aren't applied retroactively.
### Removing vehicles
Because your tier uses the highest count during the month, removing vehicles doesn't lower your tier right away. Your new tier shows up the month after next. Check the "Starting \[month\]" price in your portal before you remove a vehicle.
### Example
You have 9 vehicles and add 3 on November 10. The 3 new vehicles are billed at your current rate for November. Starting December 1, your whole fleet is priced at the 10+ tier.
### Taxes and fees
State taxes and fees are applied to your rates.
### 2. Your fleet utilization rating
Along with fleet size, your fleet has one utilization rating: High, Medium, or Low. It applies to every car on your policy and replaces the old “Rent More, Save More”.
### When it updates
We recalculate it twice a year. The next calculation is in March, and it takes effect in May.
### Do I need to do anything?
No. Adding or removing vehicles doesn't change your utilization. Your fleet size is the part you can change month to month.

Your utilization rating shows in your portal at [my.tint.ai](https://my.tint.ai), under "Your rate factors."

### On your billing page and Edit Coverage
- Current price: what you pay this month, shown in bold at the top.
- "Starting \[next month\]" price: what you'll pay next month based on your fleet right now. This only shows when next month's price is different.
- Fleet utilization: your fleet's % and rating (High, Medium, or Low).
- Fleet size: how many vehicles you have insured, including last month's highest count and this month's highest count so far.
- How your price is set: a plain-language breakdown of your rate factors, and why a factor does or doesn't apply.

### Adding vehicles in Edit Coverage
Each vehicle shows today's price and next month's price. If adding vehicles moves you into a better tier, you'll see the lower price starting next month.

### If your fleet is shrinking
If removing vehicles will end a fleet discount, you'll see a banner and a higher "Starting \[month\]" price.

### On mobile
Each vehicle shows both prices. The summary at the bottom shows your total and next month's price. Taxes and fees are only shown on desktop.

Tip: Check the "Starting \[month\]" price before you add or remove a vehicle near the end of the month. That's what your next bill will be.
