Off-Trip Fleet Pricing Update FAQ

Updated October 27, 2026

What's changing?

Starting November 1, two updates to Off-Trip pricing take effect at the same time
  1. Fleet size discounts. Hosts with larger fleets can qualify for a lower rate.
  2. Utilization pricing. Your premium now reflects how often your vehicles are actually on trips

These are two separate changes. You might see one, both, or neither depending on your fleet.

When does it start?

If your price is going down, it starts with your November 1 bill. If it's going up, it starts December 1. You'll get an email with your new amount before then.

Will my price go up or down?

Most hosts will see a lower price. Your portal at my.tint.ai shows your current price and, starting November 1, your new price.

Do I need to do anything?

No. The new pricing applies automatically. If you want a better fleet size tier for November, add vehicles to your policy by October 31.

Why didn't I get my usual billing reminder in October?

We paused it this month because of the pricing update and sent product update emails instead. Your November 1 bill will go out on the usual scheduled.

Fleet size pricing

How does fleet size affect my price?

The more vehicles you insure, the better your rate.

How is my fleet size counted?

On the last day of each month, we look at the highest number of vehicles you had insured at any point that month. That number sets your tier for next month.

Does a vehicle need to be insured all month to count?

No. One day on your policy counts toward that month's highest count.

If I add vehicles today, when does my price drop?

On the 1st of next month, for your whole fleet. Vehicles you add mid-month are billed at your current rate for the rest of the month.

Will I get a credit for vehicles I already paid for this month?

No. Tier changes start on the 1st and aren't applied retroactively.

Does the October 31 deadline include vehicles added that day?

Yes. Vehicles added any time on October 31 count toward your November tier.

I removed vehicles. Why didn't my price change next month?

Next month's price uses this month's highest count, so you keep your current tier for one more month. Your new tier shows up the month after that.

Will I be notified if removing vehicles moves me to a different tier?

Your portal shows the "Starting [month]" price before the change takes effect. Check it before you remove a vehicle.

I only have 1 or 2 vehicles. Why am I paying more?

Your price depends on several factors, including how many vehicles you insure. Fleets of 1 or 2 vehicles are priced higher than larger fleets. If you insure 3 or more vehicles, your fleet size factor changes and your price may go down. Your portal shows your current price and how it is set.

Fleet utilization

What is fleet utilization?

It's one rating for your whole fleet: High, Medium, or Low. Every car on your policy gets the same rating, instead of each car being rated separately.

How often does it change?

We recalculate utilization twice a year. The next calculation is in March, and it takes effect in May.

Can I change my utilization?

Not between updates. Adding or removing vehicles doesn't change it. Your fleet size is the part you can change month to month.

Why did my price change so much?

This is the first utilization update in a while, so some prices moved more than they will in future updates.

Where can I see my utilization?

In your portal, under Your rate factors. It shows your fleet's % and rating.

Billing, portal and taxes

Why does my portal show two prices?

The top price is what you pay this month. The one below it, labeled "Starting [month]," is what you'll pay next month based on your fleet right now. If both are the same, you'll only see one.

What does "How your price is set" show?

A plain-language breakdown of your rate factors and why a factor does or doesn't apply.

My email showed a different amount than my portal. Which is right?

Your portal reflects your current policy. If anything doesn’t look right, contact us and we’ll look into it.

My bill doesn't match my portal. What do I do?

Contact us and we'll look into it. Email support@tint.ai or call (909) 505-2338.

Are taxes calculated before or after discounts?

After. Your state's rate is applied to your premium after any discount or surcharge.

Why don't I see taxes on my phone?

Prices on mobile do not include taxes and fees. To see your total with taxes and fees, use the desktop portal..

Does this change my telematics rate?

No. The telematics rate is separate and works the same as before.

My renewal quote doesn't match my bill.

Renewal quotes sent before November 1 used the old pricing. Renewals after November 1 use the new fleet pricing, so your price may be different. Your portal shows your current price.

Eligibility, states and policy type

Does this apply in my state?

The new pricing applies in every state where Off-Trip Insurance is available except Nevada. If you’re in that state, your pricing stays the same for now and we’ll let you know if that changes.

I'm on an older policy. Does this affect me?

The new fleet pricing applies to vehicles insured by RVI. Vehicles insured by Mobilitas will get the new pricing when they renew or move to an RVI policy.

I just started a new policy. Which pricing do I get?

New policies bound through October 31 move to the new pricing on November 1. New policies after November 1 start on the new pricing.

Can I start a new policy with 1 or 2 vehicles?

No. New policies for 1 or 2 vehicles aren’t available right now.

I got a notice that my price goes up December 1. If I add vehicles in November, can I switch to November 1?

No, your new pricing still starts December 1. But it's calculated from your fleet at that time, so adding vehicles could make it lower than your notice showed.

Does this apply to Turo Canada?

No. This update applies to US policies only.
