What is the NAIC number for my off-trip insurance and where can I find it?
What is an NAIC number?
The NAIC number is a five-digit code that identifies an insurance company in the United States. It is issued by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. State DMVs use it, together with your policy number and your VIN, to confirm that a vehicle is insured, so you are usually asked for it when you register or renew a vehicle.
Your NAIC number is 23132
That is the code for R.V.I. America Insurance Company, and it is the one to give a DMV or enter on a state form.
Your coverage is written by two companies in the same group, so both names appear on your documents:
- R.V.I. America Insurance Company, NAIC 23132
- R.V.I. Guaranty Co., Ltd., which has an alien insurer ID, AA-3190637, rather than a five-digit NAIC number
If a form asks specifically for an alien insurer ID or a non-US insurer identifier, use AA-3190637. In every other case, use 23132.
Where to find this on your documents?
All of it is printed on your insurance ID card and your certificate of insurance, next to the insurer name. You can download both at any time from the Tint portal:
- For one vehicle, open Off-Trip Insurance, then the Fleet tab, click the vehicle, and download from the Documents section.
- For all your vehicles, open Off-Trip Insurance, then the Documents tab.
If a state system does not accept the number
Some state websites are slower than others to recognise a new insurer. If a DMV site rejects the NAIC number or cannot find your policy, contact us.
