When to File a Claim
You should file a claim if your vehicle experiences direct physical damage or loss during transit that is not excluded under the policy. Examples include: collision damage, theft, vandalism, or fire.
Types of Claims Covered
TrustedTransport shipper’s interest insurance is designed to protect against direct physical loss or damage to your vehicle while it is in transit. Common types of covered claims include:
- Collision or overturn: If the transport truck is involved in an accident and your vehicle is damaged.
- Damage during loading or unloading: If your vehicle is harmed while being placed on or removed from the carrier.
- Theft: If your vehicle is stolen while in the carrier’s custody.
- Vandalism: If your vehicle is deliberately damaged during transit.
- Fire: If a fire occurs while your vehicle is being shipped.
- Towing and storage fees: Reasonable towing costs and up to 5 days of storage are covered if directly related to a covered loss.
Important Note: Coverage only applies to vehicles valued at $100,000 or less that have been properly declared before shipment, with required pre- and post-shipment photos submitted.

How to File a Claim

Claim Evaluation
Vehicle value is based on the lowest of:
- Declared value
- Actual cash value (ACV)
- $100,000 policy limit
Repair claims are reimbursed up to the fair market repair cost, within the insured limit.
Getting Paid
Once approved:
- Most valid claims are paid within 7 days
- Payments go to you or your designated loss payee/lienholder
- A $100 deductible will be subtracted from your payout
