Understanding Your Coverage with Tint

TrustedTransport by Tint is primary and standalone coverage designed to protect your vehicle during transport.

Key Highlights

  • TrustedTransport Shipper’s Interest Insurance protects your vehicle during transport against direct physical loss or damage.
  • Coverage is primary and standalone—it pays regardless of whether the carrier’s insurance applies.
  • Each vehicle is covered up to $100,000 or its actual cash value (whichever is less).
  • A $100 deductible applies to every claim.

What is Shipper’s Interest Insurance?

TrustedTransport is the shipper’s interest insurance program from Tint, created to give you peace of mind when shipping your vehicle. Unlike relying solely on a motor carrier’s liability insurance, this program provides direct coverage for your vehicle itself, not just the carrier’s responsibility.

In simple terms, it means your vehicle is protected from many types of physical damage or loss that may occur while it is in transit, regardless of fault—subject to policy terms, conditions, and exclusions.

What is Covered?

This insurance applies while your vehicle is in transit within the contiguous United States. Coverage begins when the carrier first moves the vehicle for loading and ends when it is delivered at the destination.

Examples of covered situations include:

  • Accidental damage during loading, transit, or unloading
  • Collision or overturn of the transport truck
  • Theft or vandalism during transit
  • Fire while the vehicle is being shipped
  • Reasonable towing and up to 5 days of storage fees if directly related to covered damage

Important note: To be covered, vehicles must be declared before shipment, valued at $100,000 or less, and supported by required pre- and post-shipment photos.

What is Not Covered?

While coverage is broad, certain types of loss or damage are not covered under this program.

Examples of what’s not covered include:

  • Pre-existing damage or normal wear and tear
  • Rust, oxidation, or discoloration
  • Loss due to neglect, improper packing, or poor preparation
  • Mechanical or electrical breakdowns (unless caused by a covered event)
  • Damage from extreme weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, or wildfires
  • Government seizure or confiscation
  • Personal items or loose goods left inside the vehicle
  • Loss of value after repair (“diminished value”)
  • Shipping costs, taxes, or penalties not directly tied to covered damage
