I need insurance to list my vehicle on Turo - What can I do?

If you are buying a new car to be listed on Turo but need proof of insurance right away, you might qualify for a Temporary ID Card.

A Temporary ID card provides limited coverage for situations related to getting your vehicle ready for the Turo platform.

Who Can Request a Temporary ID Card?

You can request a Temporary ID Card if you are a Tint policyholder who needs immediate off-trip insurance coverage for one of the following reasons:

  • Vehicle Purchase: You're buying a new vehicle to list on Turo and need proof of insurance to finalize the purchase.
  • Vehicle Recall: Your Turo-listed vehicle is undergoing a manufacturer recall, and you require temporary off-trip insurance documentation.

How Long is the Temporary ID Card Valid?

Your Temporary ID Card is valid for 5 days from the issue date. It cannot be extended, so be sure to complete your setup on Turo within this time frame.

How to Request a Temporary ID Card?

Requesting a Temporary ID Card is easy! Simply submit the form, and if you qualify, you will receive it via email within one business day.

To ensure approval, please enter your correct Tint Certificate Number. Incorrect or missing information may result in a delay or rejection of your request.

What Happens After the 5 Days?

The Temporary ID Card will automatically expire after 5 days. To avoid any gaps in coverage:

  • List your vehicle on Turo and ensure it’s added to your Tint policy before the card expires.
  • If your vehicle is not fully insured by the 5th day, the Temporary ID Card will no longer be valid, and your vehicle will not be covered.

Important Notes to Keep in Mind:

  • The Temporary ID Card is only available to current policyholders.
  • The coverage provided by the Temporary ID Card will be the lowest level available under your Tint policy.
  • No cost is associated with the Temporary ID Card, but it is essential to complete your insurance setup within 5 days.
