What is Tint Off-Trip Insurance?

Tint Off-Trip Insurance refers to commercial insurance coverage that protects your vehicle when it’s listed on Turo but not actively on a trip. This includes moments when your car is:

  • Parked and waiting for the next rental
  • Undergoing routine maintenance or repairs
  • Being refueled or cleaned
  • Involved in delivery or pickup associated with a Turo rental

This coverage ensures you're continuously protected, filling the gaps between trips so you can manage your fleet confidently.

⚠️  Note: Personal (non-business) use of your vehicle is not covered under this policy.

For details about the requirements, refer to this article: What are the requirements for a Tint off-trip insurance policy?

What coverage is included?

Tint offers off-trip insurance that meets the minimum insurance requirements for all applicable U.S. states, with the exception of New York and Kentucky, where coverage is currently unavailable.

Standard Coverage Includes:

  • Liability coverage (meets minimum requirements in your state)
  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage (where required by law)

What coverage options can I choose from?

Tint allows Turo hosts to customize their off-trip insurance coverage on a per-vehicle basis. Here are the options:

✅ Liability Coverage (Included)

Covers bodily injury or property damage for which you're legally liable while the vehicle is off-trip. This is mandatory and provided at the minimum limit required by the vehicle's state.

If selected, this covers:

  • Sudden, accidental damage (collision)
  • Theft, vandalism, weather events (comprehensive)

Coverage is limited to the lesser of:

  • Actual cash value at the time of the loss
  • Cost to repair or replace with similar quality
  • $100,000, minus the deductible
